Chopped Strands

Used to reinforce resins and thermoplastics.

Our 6mm chopped strands can be combined with resin to create a dough-like mixture that forms a highly durable compound. It is crucial to ensure that the catalyst is thoroughly mixed into the mixture and to avoid applying it too thickly, as this can lead to the generation of exothermic reactions and cause the mixture to reach high temperatures.

These glass fibers are extremely beneficial for reinforcing challenging and inconvenient areas in mold-making and part production. They can be easily sprinkled into areas where traditional matting would not adhere properly. To use them, simply sprinkle the strands into the desired area, wet them with Polyester resin, and then lay the matting over them. This technique helps prevent the formation of any air voids during the molding process.

Available in a range of sizes.
